African Commemorative Dolls

I am a Fabric Artist Designer, designing soft no-face African dolls.  Each doll personalities shine through without eyes or noses or mouths. There are so many contributors to the development of "This World".  African Commemorative Dolls have no face which honor and commemorate the contributions our ancestors contributed to the development of their community and to the world. ‘Faces’ disguises and underrate the achievements of so many unrecognized contributors such as Historians, Teachers, Religious Leaders, Educators, etc.  My creation shows that we're not so different after all.
 

My primary focus is education of our children. Teaching individual to look beyond facial features but concentrating on individual actions, beliefs, personality, and gifts they share within their community and the world.

"Dolls of Color” provides a reflective and browsable commemoration of African Culture and Heritage. Each doll transports you on a journey of literary and culture discovery throughout the Africa continent and testifies to the diversity within the world. Each doll pays homage to different areas of Africa and comes with an individual Biography, highlighting their role and their contribution to the development of their community and history.
